Practical Strength & Conditioning for Rehab Professionals Workshop
This practical two-day workshop, led by Dr. Tim Gabbett, is designed to enhance the strength and conditioning skills of rehabilitation professionals.
The workshop bridges the gap between training theory and rehabilitation practice. Participants will learn lifting techniques, including progressions and regressions, athletic development drills, speed, repeated sprint and aerobic testing and training protocols. A key outcome of this course is the ability to write programs, including daily and weekly schedules to optimize training adaptations, when loading ‘around’ injured tissues.
WORKSHOP FOCUS POINTS
- Load-response principles for tissues and systems
- Return-to-sport progressions for jumping, running, throwing and collision sport athletes
- Speed, agility and repeated-sprint development
- High-intensity aerobic training and maximal aerobic speed training
- Dose-response principles for speed, strength and aerobic adaptations
- Developing practical training and monitoring plans
